under the modem properties advanced tab
change default preferences
general tab
"Data Connection Preferences"
Port speed

I can use my wireless phone as a modem and the connection
is capable of faster than 115.2, but that's all the
faster that I can configure the modem. I am using a usb
cable. How can I make xp have a faster connection
option?????

Get a real Internet Connection, your Wireless Phone ain't getting that type
of speed.

Unless you have a unique telecommunications carrier, or are using a modem to communicate direct to another PC in your household, there is no use in setting the COM port speed higher than 57600bps

The telecoms facilities are no able to handle higher speeds: and unless you have a unique modem, it isn't either

You are chasing rainbows.

You're confusing an analog modem with a USB "modem". Changing Windows'
analog modem settings (which is what you're trying to do) will have no
effect on the USB modem's speed; it's already running at the 250 KBps
download speed (or whatever your Internet Service Provider allows),
and unless you hack the modem, you're not going to get it to go much
faster than that. Your USB connection between the modem and your
computer can handle that 250 KBps just fine.
