I type in 1 and it comes up as 0.01

If I type in any number it shows up as X/100. ie. 1 = 0.01, 2= 0.02, 30
= 0.3.....

I don't know where to look. I checked Option in Excel and control panel
in Windows without success.

I am thankfull for any ideas.

You try to format the cell.

Format | Cells | Number | Number

Select your preference.

to format the cell was the first thing I tryed. Can you format your
excel to do the same by using format function?

Tools > Options > Edit Tab
Remove check from fixed decimal places
