There is one big difference between my problem and the ones I read here.
That is my os xpsp2 states that my dvd is healthy and operating. My computer
lists it as dvd ram. It use to work. I've been messing with my hard drives
because I got light on space and needed some. Also, I may be missing upper &
lower filters for the dvd. CD works fine. Separate drives. Anyone got any
suggestions I'm all ears.
Thx for taking the time to read this.

Defective Hardware.

Also, I received a message from an online diagnostic that F:/ (dvd drive)
had no parameter. I tend to think that means there is no path to it . Is
that right? How can I create that path ? Also would missing filters have
anything to do with the missing parameter.?? if you've got time, let me know
what u think.

If you have recently uninstalled or upgraded CD/DVD burn
software, it could have left inaccurate hooks in the
registry, causing the problem. Also the mounted
drives/devices may have been updated/removed improperly.
