I have been an idiot! I erased some vital files of "windows explorer" , now
my IE doesn't work. This is a big problem because many of my memberships
with various websites, such as Adobe Reader and Audible.com cannot find my
server and cannot download my e-books. I have already addressed other
possible solutions that could pertain to this problem but I think it's the IE
situation I created for myself. I'm stuck in a third-world country and these
ebooks are my only connection with sanity. Please help this poor, stupid
shlub! Thank you in advance for any assistance you care to offer!

Hi, assuming you are using Winsows XP try the following.

to Re Install IE

1. Click Start then click Control Panel
2. Open Add/Remove Ptrgramms
3. on the Add/Remove Programs window click on Add/Remove windows component
button on the left side of the window.
4. Scroll down and locate Internet Explorer in the selection then put a
check on the box for it.
5. The windows xp cd may be asked during this process.
6. Restart PC.

Hi Funky,

Use System Restore to restore the system to a previous state.
1. Log on to Windows as Administrator.
2. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to
System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
3. On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to
an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
4. On the Select a Restore Point page, click the most recent system
checkpoint in the On this list, click a restore point list, and then
click Next. A System Restore message may appear that lists
configuration changes that System Restore will make. Click OK.
5. On the Confirm Restore Point Selection page, click Next. System
Restore restores the previous Windows XP configuration, and then
restarts the computer.
6. Log on to the computer as Administrator. The System Restore
Restoration Complete page appears.
7. Click OK.

I want to thank you for your prompt and helpful advice. It worked! I can't
tell you how relieved I am that this problem is resolved. Thank you, thank
you, thank you! No more headaches! Have a wonderful day knowing you have made
some stranger somewhere very happy! Cheers!!!
