I See You. You Don't See Me?

Three machines on a LAN with different platforms; WIN95, WIN98SE, Windows XP
HE. They're connected by cable modem, to a router, to a hub, then to the
individual machines. the 98 and XP have Office 2000 Professional installed.
I attempted to use NetFolders for the Calendar and couldn't get sufficient
help; maintenance too high. So I removed the folder through the wizard used
to initially install it... the wizard on the XP. All's well on the XP
(except for the issue that caused me to terminate; Calendar is followed by
"(4)" and there's only 1 calendar that I see.

The 98SE machine still contains the Calendar name in the Folder List of
Outlook but I've switched back to (changed the cursor to highlight) the
original file.

When I look at my network from the XP machine, I see all three and can
interact with them. However, when I go to the other two and look in My
Network Neighborhood, I see nothing. The cursor continually searches. On the
98SE machine, I pulled up the "NetWork Troubleshooting" reference from the
help file and started to use it. I made one selection from the first inquiry
screen and clicked Next. The results was a blank page; I can't get it to
even give me instructions on the subject.

Any idea why I can't "see the XP" from either machine but the XP can see me
at both?

John,

I'm a little unclear about your problem. Did it exist before you removed
NetFolders, or is this a new problem?

Do you have any software firewall (ICF or third party) on any of the computers?
That's a common cause of asymmetrical browsing problems like this one.

Are you running both Client for Microsoft Networks, and File and Printer Sharing
for Microsoft Networks, on each computer? Do you have shares setup on each?

Make sure the browser service is running on each computer. Control Panel -
Administrative Tools - Services. Verify that the Computer Browser service is
started.
