I see an envelope on my task bar, but my inbox is empty?

It seems as if I am getting notification that I have new mail in my inbox,
but when I check the inbox, there is no new mail, or it's empty. Does anyone
know why this is happening?

Thank you,

Blandine

Hi,
have you created rules?
So maybe the new mail is in another folder!
if not, try this
START

RUN

REGEDIT

Locate the following key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\UnreadMail\

Please search the DWORD "MessageExpiryDays" on the right side
Doubleclick on it and change the Value from 1 to 0

OK

If the key does not exist, please create the key.
Close the registry editor and restart Outlook

Suggestion - Go check at the bottom of your inbox list ie oldest incoming
email. Sometimes your virus check will send you an undated email telling you
that a virus had been removed from a message - because there is no date, it
goes to the bottom of the list.
