i receive an error message

I receive the following message in Outlook:

An unknown error has occurred. 0x80040600

I am using Windows XP, Outlook 2002. I have tried using the Inbox Repair
Tool to fix the .pst file but it did not work. Any ideas>
 
Was Outlook closed when you ran scanpst.exe? Did you find any errors at all?
How many times did you run scanpst.exe? If you found errors, run it again
until no further errors come up.
 
No, Outlook was not open. I ran the scanpst.exe three (3) times with no
errors. I finally found a program to fix the corrupt .pst file. It seems to
have worked.
