I have tried disk cleanup and defrag. I am up to 16% free space from 6%. Under disk cleanup the Tempoary Internet files, as soon as I delete them and go back to it I have anywhere from 10KB and up back on it, and I just cleaned it. I can't run Norton Antivirsus, and I was trying to access Spybot--says I already have it downloaded, but I can't access that either. I wanted to defrag in Safemode, But I have windows XP Proffesional and I can't figure out how to get into safe mode. I fet a message that states--" Files that are required for windows to run properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions to maintian system stability windows must restore the original versions of theese files." I have deleted all of my "cookies" and then emptyed the recycle bin. I have tried to uninstall numerous programs, some won't let me. I have been trying for a week to fix this, I started at 6%--now have16% just enough to defrag, but it keeps stoping and restarting defrag, thats why I want to defrag in safe mode. I really don't know what to do at this point. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

You need to get a larger hard drive, and fast..

Try this unplug your computer from the internet first. Run disk cleanup but when the window pops up to select the files you want to clean highlight temporary internet files and click view files. Double click each folder and click on edit in tool bar and click on select all and then delete. Do this in every folder. When finished X out and go ahead and run disk cleanup. After that double click on my computer, double click hard drive ("C") , double click documents and settings, your name folder or what ever the admin. folder is named , double click local settings, double click temp. folder do the same as temp. internet click on edit, select all and delete, then go back to history folder and do the same and do the same to temp. internet folder if anything is left in there, then go back to your cookies folder and do the same there, if you have a recent folder do the same. Then go to the windows folder, double click prefetch folder and delete everything in it. Then go to control panel , internet options and select delete cookies and clear history , then go to media player tools tab, privacy tab and select clear history. Now empty your recycle bin. Maybe this cleared everything out. Reboot and run in safe mode and see if you can run Norton antivirus and your spyware program. If this does not work or help post back. Good luck.

4.01 gig is far too small for XP.
