I/O error 0 when trying to save in PP 2000

I'm running Office 2000 on a win98 machine. Every time I try to save a power
point project I get a "I/O error type 0" msg and my machine locks up. I
tried repairing and removing office. I've even gone as far as replacing the
win98 system files. I have also replaced the memory. Still stuck with the
same problem.
