I have formatting two styles for heading 3, but I want them all on one line.
The number (3.1.1 is one format and the text is a different format) can I do
that all on one line?

Hi Femmina

I'm not sure I understand exactly what you are trying to achieve.

Do you want a Heading 3 paragraph to be something like

3.1.2 My heading here

Where "3.1.2" is, say, Arial Red 12pt and "My heading here" is Times New
Roman Blue 11pt?

If so, then modify the Heading 3 style to be Times New Roman Blue 11pt (that
is, the way the actual heading text is to look). Then, modify the numbering
so the number is Arial Red 12pt.

For information on how to modify a style, see

For information about setting up the numbering, see
How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in your Microsoft Word
document

At Step 2 in the numbering article, when you get to the Customize Outline
Numbered List dialog box, choose Level 3 in the Level box, and then click
Font to set the font format you want.

Hope this helps.
