We have four machines networked. The master or main computer has a database
that is used by the other computers. All are XP machines. Friday night the
main computer, which is connected to the Internet, got a virus and now the
machine will not share with the others. I did a reinstall of SP2 but it did
not help.
I also removed and reinstalled the shares but the other machines can not see
the share. I can see the shares on the other machines from the master.
I can ping all machines on the network.
Is there a file (s) that I need to look for to see if they are still there?
Does any one have any suggestions as to what to try next?

You need to clean the virus and then windows firewall works better. on the master computer do net share command and on a remote computer do net view \\masterpcname, what do you receive? for maoe information, visit http://www.HowToNetworking.com

I recommend Brinkster for web hosting!

Thanks Robert,
I have the share set on the master but it is not seen on the other
computer in XP. I have not looked at it from the C-prompt.
I have run two different anti-virus programs and it looks like the
virus is gone. I currently have the firewall off until I can get the shares
to work.
