Since Access XP wont work with templates from 2000, where do I get templates
for my version of Access? Microsoft jumps from 2000 to 2003 with absolutely
NOTHING for my version. Why do I feel "Black-Listed"?

Have you tried using a search tool (e.g., Google.com)?

Dear MrsKMan:

I believe the default file format for Access XP is the Access 2000 file
format. So, I think the templates *should* work. Could you describe more
fully what you mean when you say "Access XP won't work with templates from
2000"?

Cheers,
Fred Boer

Fred:

When I attempt to download the template, I get the error message that Access
2000 is not in my computer, and therefore, wont install. I get the
opportunity to install 2000 for a free trial, or to get office 2003. If My
access uses 2000 as the default format, why wont it acknowledge my 2002?

They may work, but will not install, which is what I need. I keep reading
how they will work, but I'm not getting any information on how to install
lol I'm sure they will work, but I'm frustrated on how to get these things
installed. I think Microsoft needs to fix this blasted glitch, and make it
possible for me to install these easier than having to pull out the surgical
instruments and go delving deep within my computers "inards" just for a
blasted template. Especially since it uses the same format, etc. and
therefore should install with a simple press of the "download" button.

Dear MrsKMan:

I understand your frustration! I *might* be able to help, however, because
all of my computers have Access installed, I don't get the error message. I
did find a post which discusses manually downloading the file. I suspect
that it will be helpful:

Quoting.......
I have Access 2002 on my PC, and I am able to download this sample without a
problem. It is true that one will receive this message without the proper
version being detected:

Access 2003 was not found
To download and use this template, you need to have Microsoft Office Access
2003 installed on your computer. This program was not found on your
computer.

However, this does not prevent one from completing the download. If you
scroll down the page a bit, you should see the following instructions:

To download the template manually:

Click Download Now below.

In the File Download dialog box, click Save.

Select the folder where you want to save the compressed file (.CAB), and
then click Save.

Open the folder where you saved the compressed file, and then double-click
the file.
Use one of the following methods to extract the template from the compressed
file:
If the file opens in WinZip® or another decompression program, use the
program to extract the template from the compressed file. After extracting
the file, you can double-click the template to open it in the program it was
designed for.
If the compressed file opens in a regular window, double-click the template
file, select the folder where you want to save the template, and then click
Extract. Now locate the folder in which you saved the uncompressed template,
and then double-click the template to open it.
