I am trying to create a math test document, and need the divisio
symbol, the one with a 2 dots separated by a line. Please help! I us
MS2000 Premium, and have looked in the obvious locations, specia
characters, symbols, and cannot find one.

Hi Bobbie,

Two ways:
1. Look in Insert|Symbol under the Symbol font, 6th row, 13th column, or
2. Hold down the Alt key, type 0243, then release the Alt key.

Cheers

Should be Alt+0247, I guess?
(or Alt+246 from the DOS code page, if that still works)

The symbol is at 00F7 in Unicode fonts (find it in Times New Roman, Arial,
etc.) or 247 in ASCII (press Alt+0247). It is also character 184 in the
Symbol font. The easiest way to insert it initially is from the Insert |
Symbol dialog, but if you will be using it frequently, you may want to
assign a keyboard shortcut. For more, see

I found it in Math-PS (13 over, 6 down), but there is no
pre-assigned symbol.
