I messed up big time

Okay I screwed up big time. I was trying to set up user accounts / groups /
etc. so I could restrict my users, and somehow I did not set the admin
password. Now I can only log onto the database as a user.

I need to know how to undo this.....


Now pick yourself up off the floor and tell me I'm not up the creek without
a paddle.
 
Have you tried the default password? Which, from memory, is either blank,
or admin?

I don't understand the problem. If you don't have a password on the user
"Admin" then you are automatically logged in as that user after which you can
change the password. If you are currently being prompted for a UserName and
Password then you DID assign a password to the user "Admin".
 
Well now that I rebooted my PC, the problem seems to have corrected itself.

I can now log onto the db as the Admin or a user, but the reason I say it
seems to have corrected itself it that when I go to modify the User / Group
permissions, the button for adding a new user is greyed out.

Anyway, I think I am back in business, but I still would like to know how to
remove the security settings.....should I screw it up again.

To completely unsecure an mdb you first open it as a user with full
Administrator authority and you grant full permissions on all objects to the
default group "Users". Then close Access and reopen using the default
non-secure workgroup (that doesn't prompt you for a login). Create a new blank
file and from within that file import all the objects from the file you want
unsecured. The resulting file will be identical to one where security was
never applied.
