If your computer is still operational:

If your computer is not operational:

How to Replace Lost, Broken, or Missing Microsoft Software or Hardware

OEM versions of Windows XP are not supported by
Microsoft. Only "retail versions" of Windows XP are
supported by Microsoft. Microsoft cannot issue you
a replacement Product Key for an OEM version.... only
if it were a "retail version". Technical support for an
OEM version is the responsibility of the company that
sold you the OEM version of Windows XP.

It is entirely their problem.
They MUST supply you with a COA (Certificate of Authenticity) which has the
Product Activation Key on it.
See
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/howtotell/windows/default.aspx?lang=ww

If they do not satisfy going through the above them they may be selling you
a pirated copy of Windows XP etc.
If so report them to Microsoft (e-mail address removed)
