Hey ,

i built a work book where you can activate different work sheets, then
you can sum up the totals of each worksheet on a summary, further more
you can also take the line of total and copy it to an other line on all

the active work sheets.

now that was not that bad,

thing is though now i am asked to verify that the sheets are ready for
archiving (copyuing the totals to an other line)

finding a way to do this was simply but the hard part is that once a
sheet is ready it should be locked until a archiving (copy) has been
done.

right here i am seeing a few problems come up. ok simple enough it
would stop people from typeing or saving a specific worksheet.

problem comes in when lets say someone decides that they have to fix
something once they have commited to being done...

any thoughts or ideas ??

Regards,
Alexandre

If you haven't read Help file on password protection of the sheet
and/or workbook. You will see that two things are required for sheet
protection: the 'locked' checkbox on the protection tab of the cell
format dialog box must be checked, and the worksheet protected. I'd say
don't bother if you aren't going to use a password since it's easy to
turn of protection on a non-password protected sheet. Or you could save
the workbook with an opening password, choosing to allow read only or
prevent opening.
The fact that no one answered this yet makes me think I've
mis-interpreted your question. Hope I've helped.
