I have word 2000, and I can not get the fax option to send.

I have been trying to send a fax using Microsoft Word 2000 and can not seem
to get it to send. I have tried using the help menue and using what was
directed to me as directions, yet no luck. I have tried to use the Mail Merge
and it will not permit me to make a file letter into a fax. Any help would be
greatly apeciated. Thank you. (e-mail address removed)
 
Do you have fax software installed and tested? If so faxing from Word is
simply a matter of printing to the fax 'printer' driver.
Mail merge to fax requires an extra step where you choose which data field
to select as the fax number. If this is really what you are trying to do,
let us know (preferably in the mailmerge fields group) where the problems
lie.
