i had an installation of xp home which crashed and i couldnt repair it. so i installed another installation on the same drive unpartitioned hoping i could acce3ss my old desktop. However when i log in i dont get the option to log in to the desktop from the initial install. just the new windows which i installed in c:\windows2\. I can see the other desktop file in the documents and settings but it is not accessible under the second installation. is there any way to log in to the previous installs desktop

so if i just rename windows folder something else adn then rename the windows2 folder to windows it will do it. or is a little more complicated than that.
