Hi
I was trying to repair my windows XP installation. I had to delete a file and I was trying to reinstall it
I started my PC from the XP CD-ROM and was going select the automatic repair process
When prompted I chose to repair the installation but I kept getting an error message and was unable to do the repair
Like a dummy I then reinstalled XP. Now when I do a normal startup the latest XP install is loaded but my MS works and other programs are missing. When I do a selective startup I am given a choice between two windows XP opeating systems. One of the two is the original one that i wish to use all the time
How do I remove the XP operating system that I do not want to keep on my PC?

First make certain that from which of these two options where you choose( windows xp operating system) is working.Than log in to windows and unhide the hidden files and search for boot.ini and remove the entry of operating system from it which you do not want. For example you are able to login in windows from the first option than remove the secon entry of os from boot.ini.For further help follow the following lin

multi(0)disk(1)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional" /fastdetec
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional" /fastdetec
You have to edit the one of the above line
