ok i have installed xp on my d drive (where i want it to be ) but i did not
realise that i had to get rid of the one on c drive first because now at
start up i get 2 xp start up programms ,,, i was then told to format c drive
so i went into dos in windows and wrote format c however this did not remove
windows from c drive , further more i can no longer access windows on my c
drive and i really would like help removing windows and everything else of my
c drive can somebody please tell me what i should ,,, it would be greatly
appreciated ,,,,,thanks

Windows will want to be installed on the C: drive. Let it. The
installation CD is bootable. Once you have booted from the CD (in your C:
drive) you will be able to format drives and partition them. You can then
install Windows XP. There is no DOS in XP. XP is based on the NT file
system and DOS was not included or needed.
