I am not a very literate computer person, though I spend
hours each day working in Excel, Word, and QuickBooks. I
have just changed from Windows98 to XP. Every single
application I run is much, much slower. Also the speed
of my printer has drastically change. My daughter is
away at college and can't help me. Can anyone advise me?

thanks,
gh

I'm assuming that you upgraded the machine from Windows 98 to XP. XP is
a "bigger" system than Windows 98. Windows 98 is reasonably happy to
run in 64 or 128 mb of memory, whereas XP doesn't work well with less
than 256 mb memory and 512 for how I use it is considered "best".

Check how much memory you have and if not at least 256, then get more
memory.
