I really like this forum. People are eager to help, and not only that ,
those who offered help are knowledgeable computer "geeks", unlike forum such
as Yahoo!answers which, well shall we say " only for the kids". Having said
that,I am having hard time looking for either my own questions or answers to
other's questions. I could have scrolled up and down and still missed the
one I was looking for. It's ok to scroll up and down if I want to see what I
can help, BUT when I want to retrieve a certain info ie. questions or
answers, I want to be able to do it in 21st. century way, not stone age
method ! Is it possible to have reply/comment from the moderator or someone
with authority in this forum about this matter ? I REALLY mean it .

Doesn't Windows Mail have a way to "watch" a thread?

Windows Mail actually watches your replies anyway, IIRC. You can also add
other Message Rules. I also add a flag to threads that I reply to, so I can
sort by flag.

Also, Ctrl + H is a very handy way to just show the threads you have
responded to.

suppl. to " I have a beef !" : I know the list is in alphabetical order,
but how many people wrote down the Subject of the question they answered? If
you don't remember the 1st. alphabet, you gonna to scroll up and down !
Forum is great, system is flawed. People are the best! ( except Jim and
Frank --- hehehe .Joking. )

Er, you know where it says Subject, From, Sent, Size, etc, at the top?
Click on Date. Now click it again. See?

I just tried CTRL+H, it red-inked all my questions, but it does nothing to
the answers I gave to other's questions. Would you show me how to " add a
flag to threads I reply to " ?Thank you.

just use a news client that enables you to search for articles by
subject line or author (I use Thunderbird, I'm sure lots of others have
same search-features..)

That is a function of your newsreader - not usenet or the group.

Nope. I clicked on the date under the heading SENT, then click the date
again. Nothing happened.

Jihchiang

You are using Windows Mail to read these newsgroups.

Switching Views for a group is very easy. Open a newsgroup where you have
posted messages, on the Toolbar, go to View/Current View/Show replies to my
messages.

If you don't see all of your messages, go to View/Current View/Show all
messages.

You should also have the following options selected to make reading a
conversation easier.

View/Current View/Group messages by conversation.
Tools/Options/Read Tab/Automatically expand grouped messages.
Tools/Options/Read Tab/Automatically download message when viewing in the
preview pane.

Look at some of the other options in the View menu.

There are no Moderators on these newsgroups.

You click on SENT itself, or any of the other column headers. You click it
again to sort the other way. You can right click the column headers to add
more columns. You can drag the columns into different orders, and you can
resize them as well.

You just need to explorer and click around a lot more, to make up for this
lack of intuition.

OK, Bob. I highlighted the question I had given answer to, then Alt+M+T. A
pair of eyeglasses appeared in front of the question. I closed the window,
then put it back on. The pair of eyeglasses still there. So, each time after
I have given an answer, I'll enter Alt+M+T. Am I right so far ? Just one
more thing --- after fiddling with what some of you told me to do, I closed
the window. When I re-opened it, the entire list is NO LONGER in
alphabetical order ! Did I screwed up somewhere ??How do I put it back in
proper order ?

Then select your preferred sort order.

Thank you, Bob. Main question has been answered. the short-cuts and others
will have to wait. Something more important to do --- go to sleep ( I'm on
graveyard shift. )

You're welcome, jihchiang.
