I have myself setup as the admin and my wife setup as limited when I install
software from my login it does not ask if I want to install this for just me
or all users? I'm I doing something wrong?

A lot of programs use installation routines that are not "multi-user aware".
Therein lies the problem. Try placing a shortcut to the program in the All Users
account (C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs). This
should make the programs available to all users.

Hi Me,

I think this could be to do with the particular installer the program is
using, some do ask the just me or all users question and some don't, what
particular software are you installing ? let me know and I may be able to
help you further.

Not all software will give you that choice during its installation. Some
programs simply will not run in a Limited account; if this is your
issue contact the program mftr.'s tech support to find out what
permissions need to be given to various program folders and registry
keys.

If the program will run but your wife is just missing the Start Menu
shortcuts, log into your account. Then right-click on the Start Button
and choose "Explore All Users". You will get the two-paned Explorer
interface and see all users' Start Menus. Simply right-click/drag/copy
desired shortcut icons from your Start Menu to your wife's.

Is your problem that your wife cannot use programs that are installed
by your user name? If not, sometimes the programs don't ask you who
you want to have access to the program because it gives it to all
users by default.

I do not use multiple user names because they can be more hassle than
their worth :)
