When I boot up the computer it asks me to "please select
the operating system to start: Microsoft windows XP home
edition & Microsoft Windows XP setup"

I would like to delete the OS called "Microsoft Windows
XP setup" Can you please help me remove it so when I turn
on my computer my MS Windows XP home edition will load up
automatically? I only want one partition in my computer
and I also only want one OS.

If you can, can you please tell me how to format my
harddrive so that I could have a clean system with only
the windows XP home ed and all the drivers?

Thanks for the help.
Your help is greatly apprieated.

Hi Phil,

For the first question, start/run "C:\boot.ini" (no quotes), it should open
in notepad where you can remove the reference to the unwanted line from the
[operating systems] section.

For #2, just boot the WinXP CD and start the installer. After the license
agreement, delete all partitions. Then create one new one, format it, then
resume installation.
