Are you running a dual boot environment
o
Did you at sometime upgrade from Home to Pro, and choose a dual boot setup inadvertently

The simple solution is to edit the .ini file and remove the choice. The best way is to choose one option and then after the system boots restart and choose the other. If you have two Windows systems, both will boot and you should remove the Home installation

Send another post if that is the case and you'll get the tips on howe to accomplish that

Now to edit the .in

Choose Start>Control Panel>Sytem

In the System Properties window, click on the advanced ta
Under Startup and Recovery click on the Settings butto

Under the top section, Default operating system: click on the Edit butto
delete the XP Home entry and you should have something like this left behind

[boot loader
timeout=1
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOW
[operating systems
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetec

Click on File then sav

Restart your PC and the choice will have gone
