i get empty boxes when i insert pics

when i try to insert a pic into an email, regular size, i get an empty box
also if i forward an email that already has a pic an empty square (box) is
sent
i have microsoft 2003 outlook express

This is a really strange sounding problem. Can you tell me more about the
version of Windows your using and if its a work or a home problem?

Off the top of my head im thinking it could be a diskspace problem although
surely windows will popup a message telling you this.
Have you tried with more than one type of picture?

Does the picture have a little red cross in it? If it does then outlook may
be blocking the picture to prevent any virus/spyware/script from running on
your computer. If this is the case then there should also be a dark grey text
area below the address details with text explaining that outlook has blocked
images from displaying and click here to display them.

using windows xp
it does show a lil red x in the corner ..i think
wonder if i have my security too high
its a home problem
fortunately my computer is leagues faster than what i use at the day program
don't think it would be disc space...tons of room
hp media center pc m470n
intel pentium 4 3.00E GHz hyprt threading tech
512 mb pc3200
ddr sdram
160 gb hdd (7200 rpm)
don't know if that means anything to you
wonder if firefox might be interfering??
also wonder if my firewall is holding anything back??
