I don't have a security lock icon anymore

For some time now I have not had a security icon. The little lock icon that
always appeared in the lower right side of the task bar. It always appeared
when I was at a secure web site and now I do not know how secure I am. I am
wondering if this is something new, since I have had Windows XP for about 6
months and that is when I noticed it missing. I have Outlook 6. It would be
nice if someone had an answer to this question.
