but unable to set up a new account so I can get email on this laptop. Do I
use the same password
I got from Road Runner or do I have to get another password for this
computer?

Tools > Account > Add etc..

Your internet access account and it's accompanying email address(s)
are not tied to a particular cpu or any other piece of hardware and
so your existing password should be fine.

ps.

Since you have gone wireless make sure you set it up securely
otherwise it might be vulnerable to piggy backing or far far worse.
The default settings are invariably unsatisfactory.
