As title, I'd enter a line in the hosts file, but it seems doesn't work. (can ping the ip address, but can't ping the host name). However, it's work if I using the win98 in the Virtual PC setup in the same PC, can someone help ? thanks a lot

Is the host name correct?

Yes, the name of the hosts file is correct . File name: "hosts" which haven't any extension

Oh I'd find out the reason. It's because one of the keys (DataBasePath) in registry is being edited (Qhost ?
Now my hosts file is working again now ^_^
