I HAVE WIN XP HOME AND I NEED TO GETT RID OF THIS DEAL HELPER PROGRAM. I'VE ALREADY TRIED TO REMOVE IT FROM CONTROL PANEL(ADD/REMOVE PROGRAM'S). IT IS EATING A GOOD BIT OF MY MEMORY. HELP!!!!

PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

If you have Xp Professional ou can use System Restore: it is a component of Windows XP Professional that you can use to restore your computer to a previous state, if a problem occurs, without losing your personal data files.

It monitors changes to the system and some application files, and it automatically creates easily identified restore points. These restore points allow you to revert the system to a previous time. In your case to a point in time immediately prior to this Deal Helper application

Hope this helps.

Is it spyware?? Or adware?? If it is, then you can obtain a free removal tool from www.lavasoft.de that will remove it. Yes the address is right. Lokok for ad-aware 6. It will search your system and clean it all up for you, I think you will find it helps performance too

Greetings --

First of all, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all
caps, as you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is
considered very rude. More importantly, posting in all caps makes the
post very hard to read, further reducing your chances of getting help.

To deal with issues caused by any sort of "adware" and/or
"spyware,"such as Gator, Comet Cursors, Smiley Central, Xupiter,
Bonzai Buddy, or KaZaA, and their remnants, that you've deliberately
(but without understanding the consequences) installed, two products
that are quite effective (at finding and removing this type of
scumware) are Ad-Aware from www.lavasoft.de and SpyBot Search &
Destroy from www.safer-networking.org/. Both have free versions.
It's even possible to use SpyBot Search & Destroy to "immunize" your
system against most future intrusions. I use both and generally
perform manual scans every week or so to clean out cookies, etc.

Additionally, manual removal instructions for the most common
varieties of scumware are available here:

Unfortunately, I don't like your reply. I didn't install anything on
my Windows XP Home machine, but all of a sudden I now have deal helper
on it and I know I didn't do it. It got hijacked onto it. It will
not let me uninstall it either. It keeps telling my I have other
software to uninstall, (Precision time?? I found, uninstalled that ok)
What the heck is that anyway? I still can't uninstall deal helper.
Now I am getting uninstall log not found error. What's up with that?
This is a rather large file and I would prefer not to have that
program on my machine. I am somewhat technological person, but do not
appreciate my machine being hijacked in this manner... Cause I know I
didn't install anything on my PC in the first place...

I use Ad-aware from Lavasoft. It's free and gets rid of this and other
adware and spyware quite nicely. Look it up. It's easy to find with any
search engine.
