I work in and out of my home -- when out of my home, I use wireless
connections to check e-mail. It's been working fantastically, until the last
couple of weeks. When using a wireless connection that is not my own, I can
receive mail but it hangs when trying to send and I get error

Interestingly enough, it works on my wireless home connection, and Outlook
Express works. I've contacted my cable internet provider, but they claim
nothing has changed on their end. I've followed their instructions for
setting up Outlook for checking mail when traveling, I've used the "detect
and repair" function, and I've deleted the account and recreated it numerous
times. I now have a sizeable bald patch on the side of my head and my
productivity has gone way down. If anyone out their has had a similar problem
or can assist with this one, man, I'd appreciate it and will thank you
publicly.

Usually caused by not authenticating to the outgoing server.

Brian,

Thanks for the response...and you were right on target. I resolved the issue
based on the setup for Outlook Express -- well, I'd tried it before and it
hadn't worked, but when I tried it again, it did.

When I authenticated the server, the default port for POP3 changed to 995,
but the STMP server remained 25. I changed the port to 465 (as is required
for Express by my service provider) and all is good again. Whew! Not sure why
it stopped working suddenly and required the change, but it's working like a
charm again.

Again, thanks for the reply.
