I just received my new computer with Vista and am used to Outlook. I set the
email up as stated by my domain provider. I would like to use this program
instead of always having to log on to my domain name to get my business email.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'testing', Account: 'mail.bookkeepingplusofmaine.com',
Server: 'mail.bookkeepingplusofmaine.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25,
Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no
protection not provided by the regular resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

You might check if your domain provider allows you to use any port
other than port 25 for sending email. Connections to port 25 are often
blocked if they go through more than one internet provider's equipment
on the way to the server, to cause trouble for spammers.

You are trying to use a port 25 SMTP server that does not belong to
your ISP's network. That is not allowed. For the reason why you get that
error see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/Port_25_Blocking.aspx

Your workaround options are:
1. Use webmail for sending.
2. Use a port other than '25' for SMTP, if your mail provider
has a provision for that.
3. Substitute the SMTP server belonging to your ISP.
4. Get a free Gmail account, configure it for POP access, and
use it for your sending chores. Gmail uses port 465 for SMTP,
which is not blocked.
