I can't remove outlook data file

Hi

I can not remove a pst file from my viewable list of data files in outlook.
File does not exist in "data file management.." but is still fully available
in the brows tree.
 
Suggest posting your Outlook version and the steps you used to corrupt your
profile.
 
try to delete it from the registry.

Somewhere in

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles\Microsoft Outlook Internet Settings
 
Otlook version is 2003 SP1 (11.6359.6408) on XP professional - all current
patches applied.
Steps leading up to problem where doing some copying between different pst
files and a hosted exchange server. At one point I swaped the file names
between two pst files (while outlook closed). This caused an error when
re-starting outlook and from that point I had 2 entries on one pst file and
three on the other. Removed the pst file entries in data file manger, but was
still left with one entry form first pst and two from second which I cannot
delete.

Yes. That will corrupt a profile every time.
Create a new one.
