I can't open Microsoft Office Outlook

When I try to open Microsoft Office Outlook I get this message: "Cannot start
Microsoft Office Outlook. Unable to open the Outlook window. The set of
folders could not be opened. The server is not available. Contact your
administrator if this condition persists." Does this mean I have lost all my
important folders and mail??

What kind of e-mail account are you connecting to?
What version of Outlook?
What happened before this?
