I can't open documents and tech support is useless

I was running Word 2000 with no problems. I decided to get Word 2003. I
cannot open/view any of my documents. I get an error message "The file
whatever.doc is not available." Then, when I attempt to exit out of Word, it
says that there have been changes made to Normal.dot and then to the Global
Template. I have spent over 2 hours talking to tech support in India, but
they have no idea what they are doing and are very hard to understand. I
have only owned this product for 3 days and should not have to pay for tech
support. HELP ME!
 
This newsgroup is for questions about Access, the database product that's
part of Office Professional.

I'd suggest reposting your question to a newsgroup related to Word.
 
....this is a support newsgroup for MS Access, not MS Word ...try the
microsoft.public.word newsgroup for much better help.
