I have a dell cs laptop. and the cd drive is external. so
what i do is go to my computers set up and bios and change
the computers settings to boot from cd drive. after i do
that at the end of my set up, the installation asked me
that the computers resolution will be adjusted i click ok,
and a windows starting up screen promps saying please
wait, and then freezes on me. What can i do? what do i
have to do in my set up bios? do i change how i want my

This doesn't sound like a BIOS problem since you were able to install
windows. You might have a hardware compatibility issue with WinXP. Did
you make sure that your graphics card is WinXP compatible? Do you need to
install some special drivers? Keep the display at VGA till windows XP is
completely installed. Then download and install the drivers from the card
manufacturer and then only change the display to something other than vga.

You might also want to do some searching on DELL's forums if you continue
to have problems.
