Well that is really interesting. I am not in the UK but it did start about 2
weeks ago. And I did send them an email but their reply was the following.
Thank you for contacting eBay. I would be happy to assist you with your
inquiry.
This may be caused by a corrupt cookie that needs to be deleted, a
cached page or a firewall that needs to be disabled. Make sure to have
any firewall, accelerator and/or pop up stopper disabled as this can
also cause an error.
Click on Start, Settings, Control Panel.
Double click on the 'Internet Options' or 'Internet Connections' icon.
Click on the Security tab. Click on the 'Default Level' button in the
lower right corner. Click on Restricted Sites, Click on Sites and make
sure eBay is not listed in there. If it is please take it out. Click on
Ok just once.
Click on the 'Privacy' tab. Click on the 'Default' button on the right
hand side.
Click on the Advanced tab. Click on the 'Restore Defaults' button on the
lower right hand side.
On the General tab, Click on the 'Delete Cookies' button.
On the General tab, click on the 'Delete Files' button; When prompted
choose Yes to 'Delete all offline content'.
Click on the 'Settings' button next to the 'Delete Files' button.
In the 'Settings' button make sure it is set to 'Auto' and at least '500
MB'.
Click on the 'View Files' button. Delete all of the files that come up.
You can do this by Pressing Ctrl+A or by selecting Edit-> Select All,
from your browsers menu. Once these are highlighted press the Delete key
on your keyboard.
Please click Apply and Ok to close out of the Internet Options windows.
Close any other browser windows/programs that you have open.
Click on Start, Programs, Internet Explorer. In the address bar type
www.ebay.com and press enter or click on go.
Go ahead and try it again please.
If still doesn't work restart your computer and try again.
I truly thank you for the opportunity to assist you and hope you have
found the information I have provided for you useful. Good luck and
have a terrific day!
And 2nd message from diff person:
Thanks for writing to General Support. I am Kwee , and I am happy to be
of some assistance to you with your concerns regarding site problems.
I can understand how frustrating this can be at this time. A 404 error
usually means that the page is no longer in service, or has been moved.
Additionally, you may be using an old bookmark pointing to a page that
has been altered. Please use on-site links on current pages to locate
your desired page, then bookmark as needed.
Next, when you disable your firewall, you'll only be doing it
temporarily. After you've access to the site, you can enable it back. If
you've turned your computer off at night and restart in the morning, you
may have fixed the problem unknowingly.
I apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused, and thank you
for your patience.
I am happy to have been of some assistance to you in this matter. Thank
you for being part of the eBay community, and have a great eBay day!

I also called Directway and got the same generic help.
Another interesting thing is it seems to only happen once I log into ebay. I
can browse, browse, browse and all is fine but as soon as I log in ....
Somtimes it doesnt happen right way. Like today I went almost all day and
all was great. Then wam, it starts consistently.
Very Very frustrating.
What do you think??
