I can't dowload an MS Word attachment from an email.

When I try to download an attachment that is in a MS Word format it says: the
document name or path is not valid. I download tons of attachments a day and
I've never had this happen. Is there something I'm doing wrong or could it
be on the end of the person who sent it to me. Do they have some type of
lock on it and I'm unable to open? Please help. I need this document
desperately.
