I cannot start the trace log in the performance mmc.

I am logged on with an administrative account. I can start and view counter
logs.

I cannot start trace logs. Upon attempting to start the default log I get
and error stating that the log has not started and to check the application
event log. The application event log records the attempt and says that i
need to have administrative privileges to run the log....I attempted to start
the log running the performance console as "run as administrator" with the
same results.

Also i have no memory object on the add objects list for the counter logs or
on the system monitor add counter list.
