I cannot see some columns and some menu items are grayed out

we are missing some colums from our spreadsheet and we cant unhide them
beacuse the button is grayed out the information is still there because i can
do a mail merge and put in to a word document from that spreadsheet.

Lori,
Try selecting the entire sheet (the button between the "A" and the "1") in
the upper left hand corner. Then go to FORMAT > COLUMN > WIDTH and set to the
default width of 8.43. That should solve the problem if the columns are just
set so small that you can't see them.

Hello Lori,

On occassion I have found greyed out menu items when Excel thinks you are
doing something that is not compatible with the function of the item. So
check that you are not doing anything that would block unhiding.

I would suggest that your sheet is protected.

Are there other functions that are not available?

Tools>Protection>UnProtect Worksheet
