I cannot open outlook foders saved in a CD

I cannot import to Outlook some folders containing emails
that were saved on CD before formating my hard disk. I am
trying to open directly from the CD.
The version I have is: Outlook Express version 6(00
2900.2180).
When I open outlook and select import/from
outlook6/messages/browse:F(CD it says:" No messages can
be found in this folder or another application is running
that has the required files open. Please select another
folder or try closing applications that may have files
open".

If I check with windows explorer the content of the
folders in the CD.... the sizes look fine.. so there is
something in the CD.
