i cannot get my key to work in any documents of office word excel.

I cannot seem to get any thing to work inside office the keyboard does not
register ie : keys in cell 456 and nothing word document type and nothing i
have xp basic
however i can use all other programs and also can ask the help section in
top box

think poss macro ??????
 
Sounds like "reduced functionality mode" because either you have not
activated the Office software, or because you have an expired trial version
of Office 2003. What happens if you start Word or Excel, and then click on
Help | Activate Product?
