i cannot edit object in my word

after i embedded an object (equation, excel files, etc) i cannot open it
again to edit it. if i double-click it, there's warning says "Word cannot
open the document: user does not have access privileges". as long as i
remember, embedded objects still could be edited by double clicking it. i'm
using MO2003. anybody can help me?

This sounds like some kind of anti-virus software may be interering? Like the
Norton Antivirus addin for Office? If you hold down the CTRL key when starting
Word, does the behavior disappear? (Note that Word will probably look a bit
"funny", as you'll be starting in Safe Mode.)
