I have set up a wireless network and I can view my shared laptop folders from
my desktop but when I am on my laptop and try to open the desktop shared
folders I get an access denied message. This is also stopping me from being
able to get to the printer. Can someone please help me. I can access the
internet from both computers simultaneously but I just can't get into the
desktop for some reason...

Troy,

This symptom is reported here regularly, and it can have several causes. One of
the most common would be a misconfigured or overlooked personal firewall, or
other security component. There are several other possibilities too, and any
might be the cause of your problem. Read this article with an open mind.

Or look at "browstat status", "ipconfig /all", "net config server", and "net
config workstation", from each computer, and diagnose the problem. Read this
article, and linked articles, and follow instructions precisely (download
browstat!):
