I can see computer but none can see me.

I have a small network which i use in my student house to share internet
connection and files. I have found that all the users can see each other and
i can see them. But none can see me?? I also take my laptop home to use where
i also have a small network, and i have the same problem their! Can anybody
pls help?????????
 
I would check the firewall first.

Dave,

One of the most common causes of this problem would be a misconfigured or
overlooked personal firewall, or other security component. There are several
other possibilities too, and any might be the cause of your problem. Read this
article with an open mind.

For more direct help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from your
computer, and from 1 to 2 others that see each other properly, so we can
diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and follow
instructions precisely (download browstat!):
