I can not get XP to install

I formatted my HD and now i can not get the install disk
to run. It say it will not run in dos mode.Iam running two
HD's I had ME on both. I clone 1 to the other.
Is there something about the bios. the machine is about 3
years old?
 
Have you set the bios to boot to the cd ? Xp cd is bootable with all
necessary utilities to format , partition , repair and install. Jym

Yes I did but I can not get it to auto install. Trying to use the start up disk just dont work.I even mad my 2nd hd bottable with Me on it and it just hangs when trying to get pc info.
