On my desktop, when I exit Outllok 2003, it remains active in memory. It
prevents me from starting it again, until I go to the Task manager and "end
process" Outlook. Any ideas on how to fix?

You have a 3rd party application installed that is keeping it open. Some
things that MVPs are aware of that cause this is, WinFax, PDA Sync software
(e.g. ActiveSync), using Word as e-mail editor, Antivirus, and believe it or
not the Windows Address Book (if integration was on and an upgrade from
outlook 98/2000 -> 2003)

I think this may have been very helpful, although I can't tell as yet. I have
installed Winfax in Outlook, but really don't use it. I tried clicking it in
the navigation pane in order to remove it, and Outlook crashes when I do so.
I will now try to find an alternate way to remove Winfax; if you or anyone
knows how, please inform. Thank you so very much.

WoW! I just uninstalled Winfax Pro and lo and behold Outlook exits correctly.
Thank you so much for such excellent support!
