OK so here's the deal.

Had some computer problems and elected to receive a new laptop as it was a
hardware problem and was under replacement warranty.

Backed up...I thought...the .pst file from outlook. Then with new hardware
in hand reinstalled XP Office and inserted the .pst file in the appropriate
folder.

Now the contacts list is there but not associated with the icon clicks for
sending mail. There are two contacts lists available and the one it's using
is empty. Each time an email is created the second contacts list has to be
chosen by hand. In addition the auto find option for contacts when typing an
entry doesn't work.

Any help?

Thanks

Peace
Michael H.

Go to the properties of your Outlook Address Book service (tools, email
accounts, view or change existing directories) and remove any items you see
there.

Then right click on your contacts folder, go to properties, outlook address
book, and tick the box.

I will attempt this in the AM at the office.
Thank you for being so kind about the dumb ass comment. ;-)

It's another Microsoft screwup! Go to the file which
works and highlight all of the e-mail addresses. Right
click and drag them to the other file and select do not
create duplicates. This should correct your problem Why,
I don't know
