I am trying to use backspace to move text backwards and up

Just what it states I want to move text backwards and ultimately upwards and
I am not able to do that now as to how it is set up now?? VERY<
VERY<FRUSTRATING!!!!!
 
I would turn on all your paragraph and tab marks so you can see what exactly
is holding your text in place. Is the text in a table?
