Dear all
My laptop is running out of space. I found one folder C:\Windows\temp
which has 3GB of ArcXX.tmp in it. Can I safely delete this? CCcleaner
doesn't pick it up.

Have you tried the Windows Disk clean-up? That will pick it up.....

Don't delete the folder, just delete the files within it.

Anything in that folder can be, and should be, regularly deleted. Best
to do so after a fresh boot.

Run disk cleanup, check disk for errors and run disk defragment after
tht. Also delete restore points/ files in recycle bin to create space.

One option is to copy the file to a CD and then delete the file from the
hard drive, if you find problems with the system re-install it, it obviously
couldn't be deleted.

Although it doesn't hurt to do as you suggest, it shouldn't be necessary.
Any .tmp file should either be in use, in which case Windeows won't let you
delete it, or safe to delete.
